Film to be screened at York University on November 27 at 7pm<\/em><\/p>\n

TORONTO, November 26, 2018<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 John Moores<\/a>, associate professor in Earth Science and Space Engineering at the Lassonde School of Engineering, is internationally-known for his research in planetary science but now he\u2019s got a new role to add to his resume: science consultant<\/a> for a feature film. Moores provided visuals for the film, Clara<\/a><\/em>, as well as computer code and graphs for the film's art department. At the producer\u2019s request, he and McMaster University professor Doug Welch ensured the script met scientific standards.<\/p>\n

Moores ran novel computer simulations about what some of the key plot points would look like in real life. He published a paper about an important part of the simulations in the journal, American Astronomical Society,<\/a> earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Moores is available for interviews and will also be on hand for the screening of the film at York University\u2019s Nat Taylor Cinema on Tuesday. Clara<\/em> is a drama featuring former Suits<\/em> star Patrick J. Adams and actress Troian Bellisario. The film will be released in theatres on November 30.<\/p>\n
