Kozinski<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nDean, Lassonde School of Engineering, York University<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Friday 22 March 2013, 9:00am-3:00pm<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> Osgoode Hall Law School, York University<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>IP Osgoode and the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) are\u00a0proud to present \"Sparking Innovation With Students: Examining the Student Role from Invention to Commercialization\", a full day conference highlighting the role that students play in commercializing intellectual property. Student researchers, whether in a university lab or R&amp;D department of an organization, contribute to the development of a research project and are\u00a0often the innovative force behind a project. The purpose of the conference is to learn from different perspectives on the role of student researchers in commercializing IP and the different policies that have been adopted to provide for the various parties' interests with respect to that IP.<\/p>\n<p>The conference will be comprised of interactive panel sessions to foster discussion. There will be two panels consisting of members from government, industry and universities who will discuss their perspectives on the role of students in commercializing IP and a third panel consisting of student researchers discussing their own experiences in the commercialization process.<\/p>\n<p>During the break and lunch hour there will be display tables for student researchers to showcase their research projects.\u00a0 If you would like to display your\u00a0research poster at the event, please email Michelle Li at <a href=\"mailto:iposgoode@osgoode.yorku.ca\">iposgoode@osgoode.yorku.ca<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lunch will be served so please RSVP to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iposgoode.ca\/rsvp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.iposgoode.ca\/rsvp<\/a> (Event Code: Sparking) by Wednesday 20 March 2013.
