The RSC recognizes excellence, advises the government and the larger society, and promotes a culture of knowledge and innovation in Canada and with other national academies around the world.<\/p>\n<p>Fellows in the Academies of Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science are elected by their peers for their outstanding scholarly, scientific and artistic achievement. Recognition by the RSC is the highest honour an individual can achieve in the Arts, Social Sciences and Sciences.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Vaver is recognized by the RSC as one of the world\u2019s preeminent scholars of intellectual property law. His pioneering work on \u201cuser rights\u201d and the public interest has brought fairness and balance to Canada\u2019s intellectual property system.
