April 9th Update: Revised Refund Return Process

Parking Services understands that this is a difficult time for all our customers and information is changing on a day to day basis. We would like to inform you that all of our changes in policy have been in an effort to accommodate and make the refund process as efficient and effective as possible for all involved.
Parking Services has been working with our internal and external partners to streamline and automate the refund process where possible.
Currently, it is no longer necessary to return your parking permit either by mail or email. For those of you who have already done this, thank you. For those of you who have not, there is no need to do anything at this current time.
Refund details below:

YORK STUDENTS
York Students will automatically receive a 2-week pro-rated refund for March plus a full refund for April. The $15.00 administrative charge has been waived as well. Please note that all outstanding parking notices will be deducted from your refund.

Please follow the below instructions in order to receive your Parking Services refund:
1) Sign up for Electronic Fund Transfer (Direct Deposit) by April 13, 2020.  This will allow York University to issue your EFT refund to your personal bank account (direct deposit).  If you have not already provided York University with your banking information for EFT purposes, you must provide it here: https://sfs.yorku.ca/refunds/request.

2) Once Step 1 is completed, York University will send you an email and deposit a small amount of pennies into your bank account in order to verify the accuracy of banking information provided.  You must complete this “Penny Check Validation” by April 20, 2020.

3) Once Step 2 is completed, York University will issue your refund via EFT/Direct Deposit.
Note: if you do not complete all of steps 1-3, your refund will be issued via Cheque and you will receive it in 7-8 weeks.
Should you have any questions regarding the above process please email rscheck@yorku.ca.

YORK STAFF/FACULTY

Parking Services is working with Seneca to provide your refund in an automated format, like the York model, where possible.  Details will be communicated directly to each group once they have been finalized.

EXTERNAL CLIENTS (Vendors, stores etc)
Your refund will be processed back to your original form of payment.  Refund cheques will be processed for those who paid cash, cheque or debit.  Those who paid with credit card will be required to supply the first four and last four numbers of your original credit card in order to process your refund.  An email was sent out from Helen Hicks hhicks@yorku.ca requesting this information.
