York University has a contract with the following vendors for supply and delivery of Mechanical Contractor Services where the construction value is up to one million five hundred thousand ($1,500,000) Canadian dollars per project, excluding taxes. Services required include but are not limited to the following:
• Replace/reconfigure piping for chilled water, heating water and steam including all accessories such as isolation valves, control valves, steam traps or strainers.
• Installation of HVAC, steam, plumbing, sanitary, sprinkler piping systems, domestic hot water systems, compressed air systems.
• Installation of sheet metal ductwork, VAV terminal boxes, and reheat coils.
• Replacement of air handling and equipment (or part of it) such as cooling/heating coils, steam coils, fans, mix air dampers.
• Replacement of air distribution systems such as fan coil units, induction units and the associated ductwork, controls and accessories.
• Possibly install Owner-procured Mechanical equipment.
• Perform contract administration works, obtain Inspections, Permits, and coordinate with York as applicable.
• Execute commissioning, and testing of Mechanical equipment, connections, and cable terminations.
• Complete as-builts, close-out documents and submit warranties.
• Provide commissioning/orientations/trainings and labeling.
The term of this contract is from May 14, 2024 to May 13, 2025, with two (2) optional extensions of twelve (12) months.

How to Buy
For projects where the value is estimated under $25,000, York may use the prequalified vendors on a rotational sequence without going through a competitive bidding process. All dollar amounts reflected herein are in Canadian dollars exclusive of taxes.
For projects where the value is estimated from $25,000 CAD up to $200,000 CAD, a minimum three (3) prequalified vendors will be invited to submit a price or proposal through a subsequent competitive bidding process. The invitation to participate in such competitive bidding will be rotated among the VOR’s.
For projects where the value is estimated more than $200,000, all prequalified vendors will be invited to submit a price or proposal through a subsequent competitive bidding process. The Bid Documents issued for these competitive bids will be posted on the public tendering site MERX.
