The Connected Minds’ Translating Research from English for Impact & Connection Fund supports researchers with translating their interdisciplinary research outputs from English to other languages, helping to increase the accessibility of your work to community members and organizations most impacted by the findings.

Applications will be submitted via JotForm and will be vetted by the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion & Community Outreach Specialist on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Applications will be recommended by the EDI & Community Outreach Specialist, and be approved by the Executive Program Director for Funding, ad hoc.

Applications will be processed, adjudicated, and awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.


  1. Eligibility Criteria

    3. Please confirm that no other funds have been allocated to funding the translation (Yes/No) 
    4. Please confirm that any material being translated (e.g., interviews, transcripts, video) have ethics approval for sharing with third parties for translating (Yes/No/Not Applicable)
  2. Distribution Plan 
    1. Do you have a distribution plan in place to disseminate the translated material? (Yes/No) 
    2. Do you have a local or international community connection to help disseminate the translated material? (Yes/No) 
    3. Have other funds been pre-allocated for the translation of research outputs? (Yes/No) 
  3. Information on Material to be Translated

Application will be evaluated by EDI & Community Outreach Specialist for confirmation that application has passed all Eligibility Criteria

Applications that pass the eligibility criteria will be forwarded to the Executive Program Director for final approval.

Due to the high volume of applications and in order to maintain a fair and efficient review process, we are unable to provide individual feedback or respond to inquiries regarding selection outcomes. All decisions are final, and we are not able to accommodate requests for reconsideration.

  • Translating materials into English  
  • The translation and distribution of material the applicant or applicant’s team does not hold copyrights for, unless explicit permission is provided 
  • The translation and distribution of materials the applicant or applicant's team does not have ethics approval for
  • Translation of material that will be reinterpreted to alter the original meaning or accuracy of the research material; applications must be for direct translation of material only 
  • Cover the translation of material that is already being translated by other funders
