The Harriet Tubman Institute is pleased to invite you to the inaugural launch of the Black Women’s Enterprise Exchange (BWEE), a research-informed and community-engaged initiative committed to advancing Black women’s entrepreneurship across Canada, Africa, and the global diaspora.

This virtual launch event, titled “From Survival to Strategy: Black Women’s Enterprise Across Generations and Borders,” introduces a dynamic platform designed to address the financial, strategic, and structural challenges shaping Black women-owned businesses. Grounded in rigorous research and lived experiences, BWEE creates space for knowledge exchange, mentorship, and collaborative solutions that move Black women entrepreneurs from survival-driven practices to sustainable, growth-oriented strategies.

The event will feature distinguished scholars and practitioners whose work spans business, culture, and media, offering interdisciplinary perspectives on enterprise development, capital access, and transnational economic power. Participants will gain valuable insights, connect with a global network of entrepreneurs and thought leaders, and engage in meaningful conversations that bridge research and practice.

We warmly encourage faculty, students, researchers, practitioners, and community members to attend and be part of this important dialogue.
