Britney Andrews is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Social Science at York University. Her research examines gendered and racialized experiences of state-sanctioned and interpersonal violence, with attention to the ways these experiences are complicated through various vectors of power and privilege. She is currently focusing on police violence, carcerality and approaches to addressing harm which move beyond traditional, institutional responses.
