Esther Elizabeth Lloyd (née Lambert) is a human geographer and planning scholar specializing in disaster vulnerability, risk, and resilience in Caribbean coastal communities. She holds a PhD in Planning from the University of Toronto and is currently a Sessional Lecturer at the University of Toronto. Her research examines postcolonial governance, inequality, and access to short-term disaster assistance, with particular attention to the role of informal, community-based, and non-state actors. Her work engages interdisciplinary debates across human geography, development studies, and disaster studies, with a focus on Caribbean and Global South contexts.
