You can <a title=\"Trailer page for Sun Come Up\" href=\"http:\/\/www.climateconsortium.ca\/2011\/03\/16\/sun-come-up-%E2%80%93-the-story-of-the-worlds-first-climate-change-refugees\/\">watch the trailer<\/a> on CC-RAI's website.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style\"><span class=\"style\"><em>Sun Come Up<\/em> <\/span>follows the relocation of some of the\u00a0Carteret Islanders, a peaceful community living on a remote island chain in the South Pacific Ocean, and now, some of the world\u2019s first environmental refugees.<\/p>\n<p>When rising seas threaten their survival, the islanders face a painful decision: they must leave their beloved land in search of a new place to call home.\u00a0The film follows\u00a0the group, who are led by Nick Hakata, as they search for land in Bougainville, an autonomous region of Papua New Guinea 50 miles across the open ocean.<\/p>\n<p>The premiere of Sun Come Up is made possible by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.climateconsortium.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CC-RAI<\/a>. Formed through a partnership between York University and the <a title=\"TRCA website\" href=\"http:\/\/www.trca.on.ca\/\">Toronto and Region Conservation Authority<\/a> (TRCA), CC-RAI stimulates research and action around climate change and provides resources to help communities become more sustainable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCC-RAI aims to engage students, faculty and the wider public in  meaningful dialogue around climate change,\u201d said Stewart Dutfield,  program and communications manager for CC-RAI. \u201cWe support researchers  who are exploring climate change\u2019s implications from both a natural and  social science perspective.
