SUMMARY:In Conversation with Indo-Pacific Research Fellows
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\nFriday, 09 October 2026 | 10:30–11:30 a.m. | Room 280A, Second Floor, York Lanes, Keele Campus, York University\n\n\n\nAs Canada considers the next phase of its Indo-Pacific Strategy, it faces a less predictable environment than it did in 2022. Its relationship with Washington is less certain, and the rules governing global trade, security and technology are increasingly contested.\n\n\n\nJoin us for an informal roundtable with three visiting Indo-Pacific Research Fellows from the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada:\n\n\n\n\nDandy Rafitrandi ( https://www.asiapacific.ca/about-us/ip-research-fellow/dandy-rafitrandi-indonesia ) (Indonesia)\n\n\n\nXuan Dong Nguyen ( https://www.asiapacific.ca/about-us/ip-research-fellow/xuan-dong-nguyen-vietnam ) (Vietnam)\n\n\n\nVivek Mishra ( https://www.asiapacific.ca/about-us/ip-research-fellow/vivek-mishra-india ) (India) \n\n\n\n\nWe’ll discuss what a next phase of Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy could involve, how regional partners view Canada’s role, and how well Canadian stakeholders understand the strategy’s aims. There will be plenty of time for questions and conversation.\n\n\n\nRefreshments will be served following the event.\n\n\n\nYork faculty, researchers and students are welcome.\n\n\n\nPlease register using this link ( https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/QpcuEsUebB ).\n\n\n\nPresented by the York Centre for Asian Research and the Asian Business and Management Program at York University in collaboration with the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada.\n\n\n\nFor more information: ycar@yorku.ca ( mailto:ycar@yorku.ca )\n
