This is the inaugural event of the West Asia Research Cluster at the York Centre for Asian Research, which seeks to cultivate an interdisciplinary space for the study of the West Asia region, its diasporic communities and connections beyond. The cluster is guided by three principles: 1) Focusing on critical and engaged models of scholarship; 2) Producing a positive impact on diasporic communities in Canada and abroad; and 3) Supporting initiatives, event and collaborative activities related to West Asia at York University.
