Fighting Internalized Racism with Solidarity: An Anti-racism workshop

Saturday, 08 August 2026 | Noon to 2:00 p.m. | 526 Richmond Street East, Toronto
For many racialized individuals, we experience microaggressions on a day-to-day basis. Understanding how these interactions impact our connection to our ethnic heritage and culture can be challenging, leading to internalized racism. But not only does it impact the way we connect with our own community members, but it also prevents us from building relationships with other racialized communities, allies, and more.
This workshop will be youth-led! A group of 13-30 year old youth leaders from Chinese Canadian National Council (Toronto) will be co-facilitating the workshop with Jessie, a recent Bachelor of Social Work graduate from TMU and a Board Member at CCNCTO.
During this workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Connect with other students, volunteers, and community members through shared experiences with racism and anti-racism organizing.
- Develop a deeper understanding of how internalized racism can manifest within racialized communities through repeated experiences with microaggressions.
- How you can take action and mobilize to build strong community relationships with others in solidarity!
