The purpose of this event is to bring together academics, activists, students, and members of the public to reflect on the present-day realities facing migrants, specifically migrant care workers. We discuss the situation of migrant care workers in the US and in Canada and the ‘push’ factors that lead migrant care workers to leave their home countries to seek employment abroad. We end our discussion by strategizing on ways to fight against and contest anti-migrant and anti-care work policies.
