Group Members / Madeline Barbaro

Madeline was born and raised in Barrie, Ontario. She is currently a fourth-year undergraduate student in the Specialized Honours Biochemistry program at York University. Madeline joined the Hili group in the summer of 2025 as the recipient of the Professor Diethard Bohme Undergraduate Research award and is currently completing her undergraduate thesis. Her research leverages DNA-encoded libraries to identify small-molecule inhibitors of proteins implicated in human cancers. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting, reading, and finding new thrift stores.
