Group Members / Matina Movahedi

Matina was born and raised in Tehran, Iran, and immigrated to Canada with her family at the age of 11. She is currently an undergraduate student in B.Sc. Spec. Hons. Biochemistry at York University and working as a pharmacy technician at Shoppers Drugmart at Yorklanes. She joined the Hili group starting September 2017 for her undergraduate thesis. Her research is focused on the synthesis of nucleoside adapters for LOOPER and DNA-encoded library synthesis. Matina is currently the president of Exercise Is Medicine Canada at York. She is an athlete and speaks four languages (Farsi, English, Spanish, and French).
