As a result of your prompt assistance, we have been able to make significant progress in restoring York\u2019s computer systems over the past 24 hours. Equally important, we still have no indication that any personal or sensitive institutional data was compromised during th<\/span>e cyber attack. If you haven\u2019t changed your Passport York password yet, please go to <a href=\"https:\/\/mms.yorku.ca\/\">https:\/\/mms.yorku.ca<\/a> and make the change according to <a href=\"https:\/\/safety.yorku.ca\/2020\/05\/community-update-5-action-required-cyber-attack-system-recovery-5e-mise-a-jour-a-la-communaute-mesure-requise-pour-la-recuperation-des-systemes-informatiques-apres-la-cyberattaque\/\">instructions sent yesterday<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"background: white;margin: 0px;color: black;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Systems Update <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background: white;margin: 0px;color: black;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Syste<span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">ms returning to operational status on Wednesday May 6 include: <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li style=\"margin: 0px;color: #000000;font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-style: normal;font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"background: white;margin: 0px;color: black;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Full access to the Internet is now available (with a few exceptions for ongoing system security reasons). <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0px;color: #000000;font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-style: normal;font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"background: white;margin: 0px;color: black;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">VPN has been re-opened to all, with the exception of 88 users whose accounts are being investigated. IT support teams are reaching out to them to discuss alternate options.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0px;color: #000000;font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-style: normal;font-weight: 400\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"background: white;margin: 0px;color: black;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Mymail\/Central mail are now available.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"margin: 0px;color: #000000;font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif;font-size: 11pt;font-style: normal;font-weight: 400\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"background: white;margin: 0px;color: black;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\">Most web-based systems are operational (e.g. HR self-serve, Finance, MachForms, SmartBuy, SIS, etc.).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"background: white;margin: 0px;color: black;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">However, CRM, Parking and Door Access systems need to be rebuilt, which unfortunately will take some additional time to complete, and adding Zip attachments to e-mail remains blocked. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background: white;margin: 0px;color: black;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we work to restore York\u2019s computer systems as soon as possible.
