It is now clear that the <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"margin: 0px;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">potential <\/span><\/span><span style=\"background: white;margin: 0px;color: black;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">impact and damage of this breach would have been significantly greater, if not detected and dealt with so quickly. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background: white;margin: 0px;color: black;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Although clearly some systems were corrupted, there is still no indication that any personal or confidential information was compromised due to the attack. Our recent request to reset passwords was an additional and important security measure to ensure the integrity of our information. We thank you for your quick response.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background: white;margin: 0px;color: black;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">I am pleased to be able to report that all the university\u2019s major computer systems are restored. In addition, UIT is confident that York\u2019s computer systems are now as stable, safe and secure as possible and that the York community <\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px;color: black;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">\u2013 students, faculty and staff \u2013 can feel confident about logging onto the network to access various services or using your credit or YU card to make any necessary payments or purchases on campus i.e. the bookstore.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background: white;margin: 0px;color: black;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Just a reminder that the risk of cyber attacks is ever present. Il appara\u00eet maintenant que <span style=\"color: #000000\">l\u2019impact et les dommages potentiels<\/span> de cette attaque auraient \u00e9t\u00e9 bien plus importants si elle n\u2019avait pas \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9tect\u00e9e et g\u00e9r\u00e9e aussi rapidement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"FR-CA\" style=\"background: white;margin: 0px;color: black;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Bien que certains syst\u00e8mes aient \u00e9t\u00e9 corrompus, rien n\u2019indique que des donn\u00e9es personnelles ou confidentielles aient \u00e9t\u00e9 compromises en raison de l\u2019attaque. Notre demande r\u00e9cente de changer vos mots de passe constituait une mesure de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 suppl\u00e9mentaire pour garantir l\u2019int\u00e9grit\u00e9 de nos informations.
