Mark Cohon is a dynamic business leader, an experienced sports executive, and a passionate Canadian. He brings all of these strengths to his work as Commissioner of the Canadian Football League. Recently named number six on the Globe and Mails power list of the 30 most influential people in Canadian sport, Mark is leading a period of positive growth for the CFL, featuring strong attendance, high television ratings, and expanding corporate partnerships. But he'll tell you he's most proud of the positive difference CFL teams make in their communities, and the extraordinary power of the Grey Cup championship to bring Canadians together.

Cohon is a former executive with Major League Baseball International (MLB), where he was Director of Corporate and Game Development, and the National Basketball Association, where he was recruited by Commissioner David Stern to serve as Director and Group Manager of International Marketing, Managing Director of NBA Europe and Vice-President of Business Development.

Former Chief Development Officer for Petopia, a leading multi-channel retailer in the United States, Cohon was most recently the President and CEO of AudienceView, an event ticketing firm that grew under his leadership to claim such prominent international clients as the Toronto Blue Jays, the new Wembley Stadium, Churchill Downs and MGM Inc.

Mark is as passionate about new ideas to sustain our natural environment as he is about innovative business practices. He is the current Chair of the Ontario Science Centre, one of the world's largest centres devoted to science and its impact on our lives, and serves on the Board of World Wildlife Fund Canada. He is a member of the Ted Rogers School of Business Management Advisory Council, a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), and was named one of Canadas Top 40 Under 40, a national program that celebrates the leaders of today and tomorrow.

Cohon has been an active member of the boards of several community organizations, including City Lights Youth Theatre in New York and Youth Challenge International in Toronto. A graduate of Northwestern University in Chicago, where he was on the Board of Trustees, Mark lives in Toronto with his wife Suzanne and their daughter Parker.
