DICK POUND – Former VP of International Olympic Committee, Former President of Canadian Olympic Committee and World Anti-Doping Agency

Dick Pound is the former president of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) based in Montreal, and Chancellor Emeritus of McGill University. He has been a two-time vice-president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and was a candidate for the presidency of that organization. Mr. Pound is a past president of the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC), as well as a competitive swimmer for Canada, competing in the 1960 Olympics and medaling at the 1962 Commonwealth Games. He is also a director of the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.


Mr. Pound has been named to Time Magazine's 100 most influential people in the world for his relentless efforts to rid sport of performance- enhancing drugs. He was born in St. Catharines, Ontario and received a Bachelor of Commerce, a Licentiate in Accounting and a Bachelor of Civil Law from McGill University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Sir George Williams University - now Concordia University.
