Climate Action and Awareness Fund

The new Climate Action and Awareness Fund is accepting applications for their Community-based climate action projects.
This call for applications is the first of three calls over 2020-2021from the Climate Action Awareness Fund and will support Canadian-made projects that help to reduce Canada’s greenhouse gas emissions.
To invest in projects that develop knowledge, tools and/or skills that engage communities in climate action in order to help support Canada’s climate goals, such as net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
Lead applicants must be one of the following:
- not-for-profit non-governmental organization
- university or academic institution
- Indigenous organization
Lead applicants are encouraged to partner with at least one other organization, such as a non-governmental organization, Indigenous organization, university and academic institution, small and medium-sized enterprise, and/or a provincial, territorial or municipal government. Please see eligibility requirements.
The request for proposals for community-based climate action projects will provide from $100,000 to $6 million to eligible organizations, for a total of up to $50 million.
