GlycoNet 2021/22 Grant Competition: Call for Proposals
15 April 2021 @ 10:00 am
The Canadian Glycomics Network (GlycoNet) recently launched its 2021-22 Call for Proposals for glycomics projects to address fundamental health challenges in Canada. A summary is provided below.
- To support made-in-Canada health innovations and build a sustainable national bioeconomy
- To address national health and medical needs in infectious diseases, chronic illnesses, cancer, and neurodegenerative disorders
The 2021-22 Call for Proposals has three funding streams— Clinical Partnerships, Translational, and Strategic Initiatives, each of which is designed to meet the needs of Canadian innovators, health organizations, and the life sciences and biotechnology industries.
Clinical Partnerships fund Clinical Partnership projects that would offer clinicians and biomedical researchers opportunities to partner with Network Investigators to study glycans or glycosylation changes in disease.
Translational Grants fund more mature projects needing Network support to de-risk and advance them to a state at which translation is possible.
Strategic Initiatives fund partner-led projects that address needs of the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
Note: Potential applicants must register by email to Claude Larrivee Aboussafy (firstname.lastname@example.org). Please provide the project title, anticipated budget request, and list of investigators involved in the project. Upon registration, applicants will receive instructions for completing the application.
Clinical Partnerships - up to $50,000
Translational Grants - up to $150,000
Strategic Initiatives - up to $150,000
