{"id":1630,"date":"2022-03-02T11:46:30","date_gmt":"2022-03-02T16:46:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/science\/profiles\/?post_type=faculty&#038;p=1630"},"modified":"2023-03-28T10:56:59","modified_gmt":"2023-03-28T14:56:59","slug":"ada-chan","status":"publish","type":"faculty","link":"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/science\/profiles\/faculty\/ada-chan\/","title":{"rendered":"Ada Chan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Research<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>My research area is&nbsp;<strong>Algebraic Combinatorics<\/strong>.<br>My current interests focuses on algebraic graph theory, the theory of association schemes, type-II matrices, Jones pairs and spin models, continuous-time quantum walks and complex Hadamard matrices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some research meetings I am co-organizing in 2021-2022:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fields.utoronto.ca\/activities\/21-22\/algebraic\">Workshop on Algebraic Graph Theory and Quantum Information<\/a>&nbsp;(virtual), August 23-27 2021, Fields Institute<\/li><li>Ontario Combinatorics Workshop 2022, University of Waterloo<\/li><li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.crm.umontreal.ca\/2022\/Graph22\/index_e.php\">Thematic Program on Graph Theory, Algebraic Combinatorics and Mathematical Physics<\/a>, July 25-August 19 2022, Centre de recherches math\u00e9matiques<\/li><li>2022 Canadian Mathematical Society Winter Meeting, December 2-5, 2022, Toronto<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Supervision:<\/strong>\u00a0I look forward to working with undergraduates (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/science\/my-degree\/undergraduate-research\/nserc-usra-awards-dura-awards\/\">NSERC USRA\/DURA<\/a>),\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/science\/mathstats\/graduate-programs\/\">master's and doctoral<\/a>\u00a0students who are interested in combinatorics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Teaching<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I will be teaching Math 4160 in Fall 2022, and Math 1021 and Math 2022 in Winter 2023.<br><br>If my course is full or \"reserved\" and you wish to get on a waiting list, please complete the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/science.apps01.yorku.ca\/machform\/view.php?id=337855\">form<\/a>.<br>Compleiting this form is no guarantee that you will get into the course, but I'll try.
