His novel mathematical models have pioneered several research fields. His disease modelling research provides critical insights of mechanisms behind complex patterns and accurately forecasts disease trends. His leadership has profoundly contributed to the paradigm shift toward using interdisciplinary modelling extensively in health planning and firmly establishing Canada as a global leader in mathematical epidemiology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/science\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2022\/09\/Sandra-Rehan-Photo-by-Sylvie-Li-Shoot-Studio-150x150-1.jpg\" alt=\"Sandra Rehan\" class=\"wp-image-20403\" width=\"170\" height=\"170\"\/><figcaption><strong>Sandra Rehan<\/strong> <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sandra Rehan, Department of Biology<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sandra Rehan is an international leader in the molecular ecology and behavioural genetics of bees. Rehan\u2019s research combines comparative genomics and socio-demography to provide critical insights into the diversity, decline and sustainability of wild bees. Rehan is advancing our understanding of the causes of wild bee declines by developing comprehensive wild bee population genomic and disease ecology models. She reinvigorated the field of winter limnology using big data and cutting-edge statistical analysis.
