Laura Formusa was appointed to the Board of Governors on July 1, 2015 and serves as a member of the Governance and Human Resources Committee and External Relations Committee.

Laura Formusa has more than 30 years of experience in the electricity industry and served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Hydro One Inc. since 2007 until her retirement at the end of 2012.

Mrs. Formusa sits on the Board of Equitable Life Insurance Company of Canada, where she is Chair of the Governance Committee, and the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences. She also serves on the board  of 407ETR, Enmax and Tantalus Systems.  She has served on the boards of DHX Media Ltd., the Canadian Electricity Association, and the Banting Research Foundation.

She was named to the Women’s Executive Network’s Canada’s Most Powerful Women Top 100 list and is now in the Hall of Fame. She is also a founding member of the Women of Energy group to advance women’s issues and to create critical networking opportunities for high potential women in the energy sector.

Laura Formusa is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and was called to the Bar in 1980 after graduating from York University’s Osgoode Hall Law School.
