For the Public

Welcome to the pages of the Mark and Gail Appel Program in Holocaust and Antiracism Education at York University. Our program bears the subtitle "Learning from the Past - Teaching for the Future" and seeks to counter antisemitism and other forms of racism by applying the lessons of the Holocaust. More information on the aims and scope of the program can be found in our Overview.

Contributing to the Program

The Mark and Gail Appel Program is funded through a generous donation by the Appels, as well as through York University and the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. In the past, the program has benefitted in addition from support from the government of Baden-Württemberg (Landeszentrale für politische Bildung and Ministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst), the Gemeinnützige Hertie-Stiftung and by other private donors and public partners (Our Partners).

To find out about making a tax-deductible donation in support of the program, please contact York University Foundation at 416 650-8210 or donate online (in the box "Gift Information," check "other" and then stipulate the "Mark and Gail Appel Program").
