Personal impact of racial descrimination - Scenario 1

This eBook contains two scenarios involving an interaction between a Simulated Person [SP] and the learner [a York University community member who interacts with the SP].

Scenario 1 Personal Impact

This scenario is situated in an online class context.  After returning from a lecture break on Zoom, a comment was made towards a Black female-presenting student [Treece].

Everyone on Zoom is in silence when Treece joins back into class.

Treece, who was subjected to racial discrimination has reached out to a York community member to explain what happened and how she was impacted by this event, as well as to determine what she can do to address the issue.

After watching the scenario take a moment and check in with yourself.
