Multiresolution Tomographic Image Formation

We have extended our wavelet-based methods in two directions. First, we have developed direct texture discrimination procedures that can be performed without first constructing an image, allowing one to determine if full image reconstruction is warranted. We have also developed an extremely fast iterative reconstruction algorithm that avoids the computational problems of previously developed methods and also directly produces reconstructions at multiple resolutions.
