Upon further feedback and testing with our partners, we have critical services that continue to rely on SMB 2.x.

 

Our revised notice is now:

Please share the following with your teams.  On Thursday August 5th, 2021 between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., UIT teams will perform maintenance on FAS storage services. UIT is retiring support for legacy SMB client protocol 1.x only.

 

The maintenance will improve service performance and reliability when connecting to file shares on FAS – typically presents as H: and X: drives when you browse ‘This PC’ on a computer in the office.

 

We do not expect any service impact to the community if your computer is running Mac OS 10.15 (and later) or Microsoft Windows 10.
