Do you want your voice to help shape how students are involved in academic program reviews and in enhancing the program experience?
The Vice-Provost Academic’s Office is inviting students to join a new Student Working Group on Quality Assurance – a collaborative forum where your insights and feedback will help strengthen York’s academic program review processes.
What is Quality Assurance at York University?
Quality assurance guides how York – and all Ontario universities – review and enhance their academic programs. The procedures are overseen by the Ontario Universities Council on Quality Assurance, an external body that ensures programs meet specific standards and continue to evolve to meet student needs. One key element of the YUQAP is the cyclical program review, a process that involves gathering student feedback to inform program enhancement.
Why Join?
- Shape real change in how the student voice is reflected in program reviews. Enhancing the student experience is at the centre of all quality assurance activities.
- Promote quality assurance to your fellow students to increase their engagement as important stakeholders at the University.
- Collaborate with faculty, university leaders, and staff on fostering more student participation in quality assurance.
- Build leadership experience and contribute to university-wide impact in quality assurance activities.
- Learn about academic governance, program evaluation, and provincial quality assurance standards for universities.
Commitment
The group will meet two to three times per term (Fall, Winter, and Summer), with flexible scheduling that considers your availability. In-person and online participation options will be available. Members who attend for a full year will receive a certificate of completion from the Office of the Vice-Provost Academic.
