Pre-Conference Campus Tours

Outdoor Sculpture Tour

Where: Meet at WILU Registration Desk
When: 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

The University's outdoor sculpture collection includes influential pieces by artists from the 1960s such as Alexander Calder, Anthony Caro and Mark Di Suvero, as well as more recent acquisitions by celebrated contemporary artists such as Jocelyne Alloucherie, Enzo Cucchi, Susan Schelle and Liz Magor. The tour is provided by a docent from the Art Gallery of York University.

Library & Campus Tour

Where: Meet at WILU Registration Desk
When: 3:00 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.

York's Keele campus features four libraries and some award-winning modern architecture. Join a tour by a York Librarian to see some of the highlights of the campus, and learn about developments in the York University Libraries.

Director's Reception Extraordinaire

Where: Scott Library 2nd floor Atrium
When: 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Mix, mingle and network at this year's stylish WILU social. Featuring the WILU-tini, live jazz, spectacular catered offerings and the company of your sociable hosts and colleagues in the Scott Library Atrium.

Thursday, May 17th

Lunchtime Video (Optional)

Where: SSB N105
When: 12:45 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Presentation of the video "It Changed the Way I do Research - Period: Augustana Talks Information Literacy" by Nancy Goebel (Augustana Faculty, University of Alberta).

Downtown Restaurant Outing

When: Leaving campus 6:00 p.m., pickup downtown at 9:30 p.m. to return to conference hotels and campus.

Toronto is a foodie's dream, with eclectic culinary offerings from around the world. Free shuttle buses will be provided to take delegates to downtown Toronto (Queen and King West area) for an evening of dining and exploration (pay your own way). A map of the area and list of suggested restaurants is available.

York University Observatory Tour

Where: Meet at WILU Registration Desk
When: 8:45 p.m.

Check out celestial objects! For those who wish to stay on campus, we offer a guided tour of York's observatory. If it's clear skies you will be able look deep into outer space through telescopes! And if it's cloudy we'll offer a planetarium show and a tour featuring both of our telescopes.


Internet Access & Help

Internet Access

Workstations are available for email and Internet access in the Bronfman Business Library (S237). The computers are just beyond the Reference Desk on the right hand side of the bay of workstations. Feel free to ask a staff member to show you around the library!

We will be offering a limited number of accounts for internet access for those of you who are bringing your laptop to the conference. Accounts are available on a first come basis and are available at the Reference Desk in the Peter F. Bronfman Library on the 2nd floor of the Schulich Building.
