A six-member delegate hailing from Chongqing China visited York recently to get a close-up view of how the University is run.
The delegation was interested in getting an overview of York University’s campus services, operations and programs, as well as campus planning, design, beautifying and building management.

Headed by Yuanguo Chen, the Chongqing education commission counsellor, the delegate members included university vice-presidents and directors responsible for their institution’s campus planning and development.
The members hoped to learn from York’s programs and experience, information they could bring back to China and share with their colleagues.

A team of seven members from CSBO and York University Development Corporation (YUDC), led by Richard Francki, assistant vice-president of Campus Services & Business Operations, met with the delegates.
Francki gave an overall introduction of York University, followed by a presentation by Chris Wong, director of transportation and master planning for YUDC, on York’s Master Plan. Patrick Saavedra, manager of planning and architectural design services at CSBO, presented York’s campus development history – past, present and the future. The delegates also toured the new Life Sciences Building.
