Register now to help shape York University's 2025-26 budget

Following individual consultations with Faculties, departments/units, employee groups and student groups across the University, York’s budget consultation process is culminating with a community-wide consultation on Monday, Feb. 3.

All students, faculty, instructors and staff are invited to join President and Vice-Chancellor Rhonda Lenton, Provost and Vice-President Academic David Peters and Vice-President Finance and Administration Narin Kishinchandani, to participate in a community-wide budget consultation before the development of next year’s annual budgets. As the University continues its path toward financial sustainability and enacts the strategic initiatives within the York U Forward Action Plan, input from the community is critically important.

Budget consultations have been standard practice at the University for the last eight years as an opportunity to provide the community with an overview of the University’s finances, an update on the current landscape and a forum to provide input about priority areas for resource deployment.

During the consultation, attendees will learn about York’s budget model, current financial framework, planned focus areas and challenges to be considered for the year ahead. There will be an opportunity to voice perspectives about areas of importance and how York should consider allocating the available resources going forward to advance its strategic priorities.

In advance of the consultation, community members are encouraged to review the Budgeting 101 course available on YU Learn to familiarize themselves with the budgeting process and ensure effective contributions during the session.

Register for the community budget consultation now.
