York University faculty, staff invited to join Ask Me campaign

As York University prepares to welcome new community members to its campuses this fall, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in the University’s reignited Ask Me campaign, an initiative designed to help new students and community members navigate their first weeks on campus.

The campaign is one of a number of new initiatives undertaken by the First-Year Experience Working Group which is made up of  faculty, staff and students from across the University’s three GTA campuses.

By volunteering to be an Ask Me ambassador faculty and staff will play a key role in creating a welcoming environment. Ambassadors are asked to wear an Ask Me badge when on campus to signal their availability to assist students and new colleagues with questions, directions and general support. Wearing an Ask Me badge is a simple way to show York pride and make a meaningful difference.

Ambassadors are encouraged to wear their badge from Monday, Aug. 25 to Tuesday, Sept. 23.

Register to participate by filling out this form. Training will be offered through a 15-minute asynchronous online training session on YU Learn. Volunteers who have signed up will be emailed once the training session is made available through YU Learn.

York community members working together to enhance campus belonging will ensure every new student feels welcomed, supported and ready to thrive.
