York’s Department of Economics will hold a memorial celebration for Professor Charles Plourde on Thursday, May 8, at 2pm in Vari Hall "C", Keele campus, followed by a reception in the Charles Plourde Seminar Room, 1063 Vari Hall. Prof. Plourde died of cancer on Friday, April 4 (see April 7<\/a> issue of YFile<\/em>).<\/p>\n

All friends, students and colleagues of Prof. Plourde’s are welcome to attend. It is hoped that many of the people who knew the York economics professor will share some of their memories of him. Prof. Plourde’s daughter Carolyn Ensley is planning on attending the memorial and says she would like to hear people's recollections and anecdotes.<\/p>\n

Donations can also be made by phone at 416-650-8210 or <\/font>in person by cash, credit card or <\/font>cheque made <\/font>payable to York University Foundation. The Foundation is in the West Office Building, corner of Ottawa Road and Ian MacDonald Boulevard.
