{"id":109,"date":"2002-09-17T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2002-09-17T04:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/yfiledev.uit.yorku.ca\/2002\/09\/17\/june-meeting\/"},"modified":"2025-04-08T13:10:54","modified_gmt":"2025-04-08T17:10:54","slug":"june-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/yfile\/2002\/09\/17\/june-meeting\/","title":{"rendered":"June meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At its 374<sup>th<\/sup> meeting held on Monday, June 24, 2002, the Board of Governors of York University....<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>received a presentation on the York University Foundation from Paul Marcus, president and CEO;<\/li>\n<li>received a presentation on the Student Issues Roundtable from Antonio DiDomenico, co-Chair;<\/li>\n<li>received preliminary remarks from President Marsden on the recent provincial budget;<\/li>\n<li>noted the appointments of Bonnie Neuman as the vice-president students &amp; alumni and Rhonda Lenton as the dean of the Atkinson Faculty of Liberal and Professional Studies;<\/li>\n<li>approved, on the recommendation of the president and the Academic Resources Committee: the President\u2019s Report on Appointments, Tenure and Promotion;<\/li>\n<li>approved, on the recommendation of the senate and the Academic Resources Committee: the establishment of the Avie Bennett Historica Chairs in Canadian History and Canadian Literature;<\/li>\n<li>approved, on the recommendation of the Finance, Property and Staff Resources Committee:\n<ul>\n<li>a banking relationship with the Bank of Nova Scotia to facilitate the implementation of a Library Copy Card system;<\/li>\n<li>an increase to the University\u2019s line of credit with the Bank of Montreal to handle cash flow for construction projects;<\/li>\n<li>a replacement guarantee of the York University Development Corporation term loan from the Bank of Montreal concurrent with its refinancing;<\/li>\n<li>a refinancing of the loan from the Bank of Montreal in respect to the Student Centre;<\/li>\n<li>a refinancing of the loan from the Bank of Montreal for the Calumet and Assiniboine residences;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>approved, on the recommendation of the Executive Committee, the appointment of Said Zebar-Adami and the reappointment of Luis Figueiredo and Giulio Malfattii to three-year terms on the Pension Fund Board of Trustees;<\/li>\n<li>resolved to move into an in camera session, and approved the following appointments and re-appointments to the University Board of Governors: Marilyn Abram, Edward Broadbent, Paul Cantor, Margot Franssen, John Hunkin, Konata Lake, Varpu Lindstr\u00f6m, Robert Martin, Randall Oliphant, Helen Sinclair, and as Honorary Governors: Richard Addis, William Chan and Helen Vari.<\/li>\n<li>received information reports from the Finance, Property and Staff Resources; Investment; Academic Resources; and University Advancement Committees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 374th meeting of the Board of Governors of York University was held on Monday, June 24, 2002.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":317452,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_kad_blocks_custom_css":"","_kad_blocks_head_custom_js":"","_kad_blocks_body_custom_js":"","_kad_blocks_footer_custom_js":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[11],"tags":[],"yfileauthor":[204],"qualifier":[],"yfile-author":[],"tags-to-show":[],"workflow":[],"class_list":["post-109","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-latest-news","yfileauthor-yfilestaff"],"acf":{"internal_publish_date":null,"original_image":null},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v24.0 -
