Avanz Capital<\/a> co-founder Hany Assaad\u00a0will talk about financing inclusive business for sustainable development and poverty alleviation at the joint Sustainable Value Creation \"HanyAssaad\"Speaker Series.<\/p>\n

Hany Assaad<\/strong><\/p>\n

The talk will take place Tuesday, Feb. 26, from 7 to 8pm, at W256, Seymour Schulich\u00a0Building, Keele campus. It is sponsored by the Institute for Research and Innovation in Sustainability (IRIS) and Kevin McKague\u00a0<\/b>of the Schulich School of Business and his MGMT 6500 Sustainable Value Creation course (Business Model Innovation for Poverty Alleviation), which is cross-listed by both the Centre of Excellence in Responsible Business and the Nonprofit Management Leadership specializations at the Schulich School of Business.<\/p>\n

Assaad, chief portfolio, risk & compliance officer, manages the sourcing, screening and negotiating of investments, as well as risk management at Avanz Capital. He is a senior investment and finance professional with over 26 years of experience. He served as CIO in IFC\u2019s Private Equity Funds Group<\/a> and as investment manager for IFC\u2019s sector-specific funds, such as clean energy, extractive industries, infrastructure and health care.<\/p>\n

He has held various positions across IFC with regional responsibilities in companies, financial institutions and funds covering the Middle East & North Africa, South & Southeast Asia and emerging Europe, with transactional experience in Latin America and Africa.<\/p>\n
