Schulich Master of Business Administration (MBA) student Shikha Jain is among the recipients of a $10,000 National Bank Women in Financial Markets Scholarship. The scholarship program, which is now in its fourth year, supports students enrolled in finance-related graduate programs at Canadian universities while they complete their degrees. The scholarship provides recipients with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the financial markets division at a major financial institution. <\/p>\n

Top row, from left: From National Bank Financial Markets, Susan Monteith, Brian Davis, Marjorie Nadeau, Ricardo Pascoe, Marjorie Skolnik and Sean St. John (CNW Group\/National Bank of Canada)<\/strong><\/p>\n At a recent reception to honour the recipients, Ricardo Pascoe, co-president and co-chief executive officer of National Bank Financial and the bank\u2019s executive vice-president of financial markets, joined by members of his Financial Markets Management Committee, awarded a total of $30,000 to three graduate students.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe continue to be impressed by the calibre of talented women who apply for participation in our scholarship program,\u201d said Pascoe. \u201cThis program, which we believe to be unique in Canada, speaks to National Bank\u2019s commitment to the development of talented and ambitious women who are passionate about pursuing a career in capital markets.\u201d<\/p>\n In addition to Jain, the winners of this year\u2019s bursaries include Maryse Duguay-Patenaude, who will be undertaking a Master in Financial Engineering at HEC Montr\u00e9al, and Lauren Reid, who has been accepted into the Master of Management of Innovation program at the University of Toronto.<\/p>\n Scholarship winners have been paired with senior professionals in the bank\u2019s financial markets sector, who will serve as mentors to the students. All recipients will receive senior-level mentoring from Susan Monteith, executive vice-president and managing director, Client Strategy and People Development.
