\"PresidentsCWAwardsPoster\"The annual President\u2019s Creative Writing Awards is once again looking for submissions in four categories \u2013 poetry, short fiction, screenwriting and playwriting.<\/p>\n

The competition is open to all full-time or part-time York University undergraduates.<\/p>\n

There is no minimum or maximum length requirement in each category, but submissions must fall within the four categories. The awards are not open to novels and opera librettos, for example. Contestants may enter a submission in each category, but may not submit more than one entry in each category. All contact information should be included on one cover page only\u00a0submitted with three copies of your entry.<\/p>\n

A prize of $400 will be awarded to the best entry in each category, although no prize will be awarded in any category where the judges feel entries are of insufficient merit.\u00a0The decision of the judges is final.<\/p>\n

The results of the competition will be announced in March and prizes awarded at the President\u2019s Creative Writing Awards reception.<\/p>\n

The deadline for submissions is\u00a0Jan. 6, 2014<\/b>.\u00a0Drop off entries at the Department of English\u00a0at 208 Stong College<\/b>, Keele campus.\u00a0Entries received after the deadline will not be accepted. No entries will be returned.<\/p>\n

The competition is sponsored by the Office of the President, as well as the Creative Writing Program in the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies.<\/p>\n
