York University students who are engaged in research on Asia and\/or Asian diaspora are invited to apply to several awards offered by the York Centre for Asian Research (YCAR).<\/p>\n

The deadline for all awards is Monday, Feb. 9 at 4pm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The following is a list of awards available:<\/p>\n

Sivalingam Award in Tamil Studies<\/strong>
\nTamil language, history, culture, society or the Tamil diaspora (comparative research is also eligible)<\/p>\n

Dr. Sangdeok Woo and Mrs. Kwisoon Lim Woo Memorial Graduate Award<\/strong>
\nKorean history, culture or society<\/p>\n

Young-Rahn Woo Memorial Graduate Award<\/strong>
\nKorean language or culture studies or whose research may require them to travel to Korea<\/p>\n

Vivienne Poy Asian Research Award<\/strong>
\nField research in Asia<\/p>\n

YCAR Language Award<\/strong>
\nFunds to support language study<\/p>\n

Albert C.W. Chan Foundation Fellowship<\/strong>
\nField research in East and\/or Southeast Asia<\/p>\n

David Wurfel Award for Philippine Studies<\/strong>
\nFilipino\/a or Filipino\/a diaspora history, culture or society<\/p>\n
