A talk on effectively leveraging broadcast media will be the subject of the next IP Osgoode Speaks Series when Jerry Agar takes the podium on Jan. 20 from 12:30 to 2:30pm.<\/p>\n

\"jerry<\/a>The event, taking place at 2027 Osgoode Hall Law School, will offer advice from the talk radio expert on how to use and approach broadcast media to benefit your cause.<\/p>\n

The talk, entitled \u201cI Don\u2019t Care About You,\u201d explores how media outlets select guests and topics, and how that can work to your benefit.<\/p>\n

Agar is the host of the \"Jerry Agar Show,\" which launched in 2010 and airs on Newstalk 1010 on weekdays from 9am to noon. He grew up in Gilbert Plains, Man., and started his radio career as an all-night DJ in Dauphin, Man. He married an American and moved to the U.S., where he started his talk radio career in 2000 with a show in Raleigh, N.C.<\/p>\n

From there, he went to KMBZ in Kansas City and then to Chicago, where he worked on WLS in the morning, while doing an evening show for WABC in New York from studios in Chicago. Agar was a talk host on the Sun News TV Network.<\/p>\n

He is a senior fellow at the Illinois Policy Institute, where he records a weekly newscast for the institute. He is also a weekly columnist for the\u00a0Toronto Sun<\/em>.<\/p>\n
