The camps run from March 13-17, on York University\u2019s Keele Campus and are open to kids in grades three to eight.<\/p>\n<p>Campers will be immersed in a variety of exciting and unique activities and experiments exploring elements of science and engineering. All curricula are developed and delivered by undergraduate and graduate students through hands-on, interactive, and innovative activities developed at the Faculty of Science at York University.<\/p>\n<p>This year the following courses will be offered:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Junior Science &amp; Engineering (Grade 3\/4)<\/strong><br \/>\nEvery day is different. Campers\u00a0will construct catapults, learn how to extract DNA, and create their own colourful carnations.\u00a0Junior\u00a0campers will explore the Ontario Science Curriculum by investigating different scientific properties and participating\u00a0in many interactive hands-on activities and workshops.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Intermediate Science &amp; Engineering (Grade 5\/6)<\/strong><br \/>\nCampers in\u00a0Intermediate Science\u00a0and Engineering will become real-life \u201cAmusement Park Tycoons\u201d. They will investigate physical properties related to\u00a0science and engineering, following the Ontario Science Curriculum, by designing and prototyping devices that are used in everyday life. Campers will explore structural engineering by building their own bridges, optical engineering through the creation of their own cameras, and much more.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Senior Science &amp; Engineering (Grade 7\/8)<\/strong><br \/>\nNew technological marvels are discovered every day! Campers in Senior Science and Engineering will explore the Ontario Science Curriculum by designing their own stethoscope, learning about the properties of light by building their own spectroscope\u00a0and performing a dissection among many other challenging and engaging STEM workshops.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Fees for the week are $280 per camper. This includes pre-camp care 8 to 9am and after-camp care 4 to 5pm.
