Admission is $10 for each program.<\/p>\n<p>The first program, <em>Tessellation<\/em>\u00a0takes centre stage at 7 p.m. and the second program <em>Montage<\/em>\u00a0at 8:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<h3>Tessellation - 7 p.m.<\/h3>\n<p><em><strong>An Encounter<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Sebastian Oreamuno<br \/>\nPerformer: Sophie Dow<br \/>\nUnderstudy: Sebastian Oreamuno<\/p>\n<p>There are some encounters that are visceral. A charge begins to build and as it gathers momentum it sweeps you up into the moment. Whether you\u2019re in the thick of it or on the periphery, your attention is drawn to the present.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Arrival<\/strong> <\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Shannon Pybus<br \/>\nPerformers: Teagan Ariss, Jordan Gamble, Carly MacDougall, and Aiyana Ruel<\/p>\n<p><em>Arrival<\/em>\u00a0is a work focused on our obsession with what\u2019s next. Often, we find ourselves striving to our next check point but do we appreciate it when we get there?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Xeno-<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Rachana Joshi<br \/>\nPerformers: Nancy Thavaruban and Purwai Vyas<\/p>\n<p><em>Xeno-<\/em>, a prefix that describes the foreign and strange. The connections we make to foreign objects, bodies and ideas have the ability to shape who we become.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The Absence of Presence<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Samara Brown<br \/>\nPerformers: Emily Duckett, Jada Ricketts, Morgan Stasiewicz and Leah-Ren\u00e9e Young<\/p>\n<p><em>The Absence of Presence<\/em>\u00a0is a collaborative piece exploring the process of how geographies of black Canada are largely absent from Canadian history.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Irresponsible Dependence<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Matthew Siu<br \/>\nPerformers: Hanna Begovic, Sophie Goyette-Hamels and Maggie Lucas<\/p>\n<p><em>Irresponsible Dependence<\/em> is the antithesis to the age-old idiom \u201cthere is strength in numbers.\u201d What happens when an individual creates bonds, but is unable to maintain them?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Affects &amp; Effects<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Emma Cullen<br \/>\nPerformers: Shannon Pybus and Brittney Winnitoy<br \/>\nMusic: <em>Figment IV<\/em> by Elliott Carter, performed by Matthew Eeuwes<\/p>\n<p><em>Affects &amp; Effects<\/em> is a collaborative exploration between choreographer and dancers into the evolution of a relationship uniting two distinct beings. Two separate lives brought together by circumstance, leaving each other much different from before they both met.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Am\u00e9<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Angela Xu<br \/>\nPerformers: Jasmine Almaguer Sheldrick, Alondra del Carmen, Samantha Etzel, Sierra Heintzman, Scarlette Hinton, Alyssa Nunziato, Leah Wakelin<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by the notion of falling rain in all its serenity and interpersonal relationships of love and loss, <em>Am\u00e9<\/em> consults the deepest desires we cradle in our hearts.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Lazy Sunday<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Ayano Okubo<br \/>\nDancers: Sarmila Param, Alyssa Passero, Julia Passero and Jopang Simakajornboon<\/p>\n<p>Have you ever had one of those days you simply felt like you didn't want to do anything?<em> Lazy Sunday<\/em> invites the audience to the tranquil moment and shares the mental relaxation through the movements.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Hadalpelagic<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Hanna Begovic<br \/>\nPerformers: McKenzie Foy, Andrea Madore and Matthew Siu<\/p>\n<p>Drawing inspiration from the little knowledge we do have about our oceans, this question of what lies under the surface poses a seemingly never-ending search to understand this powerful force we all know of, but know nothing about.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Un(locked)<\/strong> <\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Given Kofi Yirenkyi<br \/>\nPerformers: Madeline Feist, Sierra Heintzman, Allison Kingsbury,<br \/>\nCarly MacDougall and Megan Millar<\/p>\n<p>Negative thoughts and emotions can become your Achilles heel; a weakness that prevents harmony and peace within oneself. The power of this negative energy can go as far as numbing the soul.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Freud (working title)<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Sadie Cahill<br \/>\nPerformers: Jordan Gamble, Bianca Pariselli and Natalie Yeung<\/p>\n<p>This piece shows the relationship between the three main sections of personality which together create the overall mosaic representing a human\u2019s character; the id (your instincts), the superego (your moral compass) and the ego (your own individual reality).<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Momentous<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Julia Passero<br \/>\nPerformers: Brianna Finucan, Mackenzie Link, Ayano Okubo, Morgan Stasciewicz and Alysha Wood<\/p>\n<p><em>Momentous<\/em> - a decision, event or change of great importance, especially in its weight on the future. A moment in time, which causes a psychological and physiological reaction, has the ability to affect the future.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Long zhong zhi niao (The bird in the cage)<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Sixian Li<br \/>\nPerformer: Daniel Souvannavong<\/p>\n<p><em>Long zhong zhi niao<\/em>, is an idiom that means a bird in a cage. Inspired by an old Chinese tale. This dance is about different states people are in during their working process.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>For Ahmed<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Amy Hull<br \/>\nPerformers: Jasmine Almaguer Sheldrick, Hayley Hamlin, Scarlette Hinton, Kayla Shaw and Angela Xu<\/p>\n<p>What is the artist\u2019s role in today\u2019s international political climate? What value does art have in liberating our communities suffering under colonial occupation? What is artistic justice in the age of globalization?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Diverging Outcomes<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Taylor Zeller<br \/>\nPerformers: Phylicia Browne-Charles, Grace Kingston and Maggie Lucas<br \/>\nMusic: Performed by Josh Buckley<\/p>\n<p><em>Diverging Outcomes<\/em>\u00a0is inspired by the Butterfly Effect, a theory in psychology suggesting how a small, seemingly irrelevant change in initial conditions can create a different outcome of larger significance.<\/p>\n<h3>Montage - 8:30 p.m.<\/h3>\n<p><em><strong>Erlebnisse<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Brittney Winnitoy<br \/>\nPerformers: Madeline Feist and Mackenzie Link<\/p>\n<p><em>Erlebnisse<\/em> (Ar- \u2018lEb-nis-e): the experiences, positive or negative, that we feel most deeply, and through which we truly live.\u00a0Throughout life, we are faced with various circumstances that affect us, change us, and mold us into the people that we are on a continuous path of becoming.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Followers<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Olivia Craft<br \/>\nPerformers: Paige DeCastro, Ashley Kotva, Megan Millar, Aiyana Ruel,<br \/>\nLeslie Woo and Alysha Wood<\/p>\n<p>How do we relate as humans in a virtual world? What are the impacts of social media on our society? In what ways does technology govern our daily lives?<em> Followers<\/em> is inspired by a society that relies on technology and social media.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>But I Digress<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Maisie Ryan<br \/>\nPerformers: Hanna Begovic, Mckenzie Foy, Emma Gray Lamont, Grace Kingston and\u00a0Hannah Petrie<\/p>\n<p>Driven to explain as much as we can, to ourselves and to others, over-complication is a habit and coping mechanism, firing hundreds of questions each moment to try and lessen that in the world which we do not know.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Exile<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Leah-Renee Young<br \/>\nPerformers: Bianca Pariselli, Jordan Gamble and Sierra Heitzman<\/p>\n<p>To be banished away from home, while threatened with death upon return, <em>Exile<\/em> reveals that in acceptance lies peace.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Immured<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Nicole Hillier<br \/>\nPerformer: Jamie Morrow<br \/>\n<em>Immured<\/em>: To enclose within walls, is a piece that revolves around the idea of feeling trapped within ourselves.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Repercussion<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Abigail Birtles<br \/>\nPerformers: Tegan Ariss, Madeline Feist and Rowen Mcbride<\/p>\n<p><em>Repercussion\u00a0<\/em>is based on the theory of the butterfly effect. In short, this theory states that everything happens for a reason, every little thing has an effect on the course of your fate.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Photosynthesis<\/strong> <\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Jessica Stuart<br \/>\nPerformers: Maggie Lucas, Shay Flaicher and Morgan Stasiewicz<\/p>\n<p><em>Photosynthesis<\/em> explores the definition of beauty as a response to our evolution within nature; whether or not the appearances and structures we find appealing are linked to an innate response to our environment.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Planes of existence<\/strong> <\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Jada Ricketts<br \/>\nPerformers: Kenyatta Brown, Emily Duckett, Sarmila Param, Bianca Pariselli, Leslie Woo and\u00a0Leah- Ren\u00e9e Young<\/p>\n<p>What makes a person unique or different from the rest? The qualities we carry which come together and create us as peculiar beings. The way we look, the way we think. These things that make us individuals also make us unlike anyone else on this earth.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Acquiescence<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Kelly O\u2019Rourke<br \/>\nPerformers: Breigh Harrison, Emma Owens and Julia Passero<\/p>\n<p><em>Acquiescence<\/em> explores the idea of identifying with a group, yet yearning to maintain one\u2019s unique and specific individuality.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Connect The Dots<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Grace Kingston<br \/>\nPerformers: Sophie Goyette-Hamels, Maisie Ryan, Matthew Siu and\u00a0 Jessica Stuart<\/p>\n<p><em>Connect the Dots<\/em>\u00a0explores the concept of perception and how particular forms can relate to one another to create new perspectives.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>School. Work. Sleep. Repeat.<\/em><br \/>\n<\/strong>Choreographer: Phylicia Browne-Charles<br \/>\nPerformers: Olivia Craft and Alysha Wood<\/p>\n<p><em>School. Work. Sleep. Repeat.<\/em> explores the endless repetitive aspects of a schedule, and how a schedule can vary from one to another by utilizing free writing prompts to generate material.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>In Haste<\/strong> <\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Sarmila Param<br \/>\nPerformers: Andrea Madore, Ayano Okubo, Jada Ricketts and Given Yirenkyi<\/p>\n<p>Timing is everything, but everyone has different timing. Everyone has their own clock. <em>In Haste<\/em> invites the audience to speculate on how timelines impose a sense of haste. Everyone is on their own journey, it is not a race. Be patient.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The Lift<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nChoreographer: Aiyana Ruel<br \/>\nPerformers: Paige deCastro, Emily Duckett, Emma GrayLamont, Allison Kingsbury and Alyssa Nunziato<\/p>\n<p>We experience life\u2019s awkward moments each day, discounting them as part of our daily routine.
