The international award-winning course C4: The Cross-Campus Capstone Classroom<\/a>\u00a0is kicking off its second year\u00a0at York University with a Pitch Week<\/a>, running from Sept. 8 to 14<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

C4 is open to all York students at the end of their degrees and enables students\u00a0from different faculties\u00a0to work in\u00a0multidisciplinary teams focused on solving pressing, real-world challenges posed by organizations operating in both the for-profit and not-for-profit worlds\u00a0\u2013 and\u00a0to\u00a0get credit for their work.<\/p>\n

\u201cYork student are being offered a chance to customize their final year and impact the world at the same time,\u201d said Danielle Robinson<\/strong>, the\u00a0co-founder and director of C4 as well as an associate professor in the School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design.<\/p>\n

C4\u2019s interactive website<\/a> enables hundreds of students at York to explore potential projects that engage with challenges that have the power to transform people\u2019s lives, including their own.<\/p>\n

This year, the program is showcasing more than 75 projects from a wide range of partners, who are eager to mentor the interdisciplinary teams of students on their project journeys.<\/p>\n

Community partners involved in this year\u2019s projects include the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville, Markham Arts Council, Jobster,\u00a0Centre for Free Expression,\u00a0TechConnex,\u00a0the\u00a0Canadian Language Museum, University Women's Club,\u00a0StoryPlanet,\u00a0Peel Community Climate Council,\u00a0 Toronto Region Immigration Employment Council, Electronic Recycling Association, For Youth Initiative, YuRide, Barnes Management Group,\u00a0MaRS\u00a0Discovery District and\u00a0Nascent Digital, in addition to several on-campus partners.<\/p>\n

Students<\/a> will only be able to preview the projects during Pitch Week, when\u00a0the community partners pitch their challenges to the student teams, by pre-registering for C4 at: https:\/\/ampd.apps01.yorku.ca\/machform\/view.php?id=94302<\/a><\/p>\n
