{"id":280165,"date":"2020-09-20T19:44:00","date_gmt":"2020-09-20T23:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/yfiledev.uit.yorku.ca\/?p=280165"},"modified":"2025-04-03T11:15:21","modified_gmt":"2025-04-03T15:15:21","slug":"an-important-update-on-linkedin-learning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/yfile\/2020\/09\/20\/an-important-update-on-linkedin-learning\/","title":{"rendered":"An important update on LinkedIn Learning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the past three years, members of the York University community have enjoyed full access to the <a href=\"https:\/\/lil.info.yorku.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>LinkedIn Learning<\/strong><\/a> platform (and its predecessor Lynda.com) through a license held by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities. The license is administered by eCampusOntario.<\/p>\n<p>Following failed negotiations between the ministry and LinkedIn Learning, the current license with eCampusOntario will expire on <strong>Sept. 21<\/strong>. To ensure continuity of service, York University is pursuing an independent contract to maintain LinkedIn Learning access for students, faculty and staff.<\/p>\n<p>While the transition to a new contract is underway, the University is making every effort to avoid interruptions to access for existing users of LinkedIn Learning.
