The following members of the York community have been nominated for membership on the York University Board of Governors. After confirmation by the board, each will serve a two-year term beginning July 1, 2004. <\/P>
\n

Professor K.W. Michael Siu<\/B> has been nominated by the University Senate. He is a professor in the Department of Chemistry as well as a NSERC\/MDS SCIEX Chair. In addition, he is the founding director for York's Centre for Research in Mass Spectrometry. <\/P>
\n

Siu succeeds Varpu Lindstr\u00f6<\/FONT>m, a professor in the Atkinson School of Arts & Letters and the School of Women\u2019s Studies at Founders College, whose term expires this June. The other University Senate representative, Professor Ross Rudolph, in the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Arts, continues as a governor for another year.<\/P>
\n

Debbie Jamieson<\/B> has been nominated by full-time non-academic employees, succeeding Marilyn Abram. Jamieson is a program assistant in the Graduate Program in Human Resources Management, Atkinson Faculty of Liberal & Professional Studies. She has been a staff member at York for almost 30 years, and is confident that her many years of service and knowledge will be well utilized on the board. <\/P>
\n

Jamieson will join Marlene Caplan who was appointed last year as a non-academic employee on the board.<\/P>
\n

Michael Ferman <\/STRONG>has been nominated by student election to serve a two-year term. During his tenure at York, Ferman has been actively involved as a student senator and as vice-president of Hillel. Through his activities he has gained valuable leadership experience and is looking forward to his time with the board.  <\/P>
\n

Ferman succeeds Susan Gapka. Antonio DiDomenico continues as a student governor for another year.
