The first case study in the 2022 competition was <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/ssc.ca\/en\/case-study\/developing-a-physician-performance-model-critical-care-assessing-quality-and-value\" target=\"_blank\">Developing a physician performance model in critical care \u2013 Assessing quality and value<\/a>, and the second case study was <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/ssc.ca\/en\/case-study\/towards-a-clear-understanding-rural-internet-what-statistical-measures-can-be-used-assess\" target=\"_blank\">Towards a clear understanding of rural internet \u2013 What statistical measure can be used to assess, compare and forecast internet speed for rural Canadian communities<\/a>. Both of the competition case studies are based on real-world scenarios and address issues of current importance in society. The competition provided teams of graduate and senior undergraduate students with the opportunity to use data analysis to analyze one of the two studies presented. Teams worked together to develop their analytic approach to the case study and a final presentation. Team members then presented a poster summarizing their methods and analysis results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>York University students <strong>Octavia Wong<\/strong>, PhD student in School of Kinesiology and Health Science; <strong>Jing Guo<\/strong>, fourth-year undergraduate student in Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the Faculty of Science; <strong>Yongwen Pan<\/strong>, master's student in Department of Mathematics and Statistics; and <strong>Vi Nguyen<\/strong>, fourth-year undergraduate student in Department of Mathematics and Statistics, won the Critical Care Choice award for their approach to the case study focused on developing a physician performance model. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\"
