David Peters<\/strong>, dean of the Faculty of Health at York University, has been named a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS), one of the highest honours in the Canadian academic community. He received the designation in recognition of his contributions to health care, particularly in strengthening health systems and addressing the needs of marginalized populations globally.<\/h3>\n\n\n

The CAHS Fellowship is awarded to individuals who demonstrate outstanding leadership and commitment to advancing health sciences. Peters\u2019 research is among the top two per cent of cited works worldwide, reflecting his significant impact on the academic and health-care communities. His work focuses on improving health systems in low- and middle-income countries, and his methods are applied in practical settings to enhance health-care delivery and policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am deeply honoured and humbled to receive this recognition,\u201d Peters said. \u201cI look forward to working with such distinguished CAHS colleagues to advance health care and health systems in Canada.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At York University, Peters has been instrumental in fostering an innovative environment within the Faculty of Health.
