{"id":373256,"date":"2025-02-26T16:24:46","date_gmt":"2025-02-26T21:24:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/yfile\/?p=373256"},"modified":"2025-02-26T16:24:48","modified_gmt":"2025-02-26T21:24:48","slug":"participate-in-survey-to-help-improve-york-u-libraries-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/yfile\/2025\/02\/26\/participate-in-survey-to-help-improve-york-u-libraries-services\/","title":{"rendered":"Participate in survey to help improve York U Libraries services"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.library.yorku.ca\/web\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">York University Libraries<\/a> (YUL) and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.osgoode.yorku.ca\/library\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Osgoode Law Library<\/a> are calling on students, faculty and staff to participate in a LibQUAL+ survey and provide feedback on how library services and collections can be improved.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The LibQUAL+ survey instrument was developed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.libqual.org\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Association of Research Libraries<\/a> to help libraries assess and improve their services and has been used by over 1,300 libraries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>York U Libraries last ran the LibQUAL+ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.library.yorku.ca\/web\/about-us\/plans-and-reports\/libqual\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">survey in 2013<\/a>. Feedback gathered from previous iterations of the survey helped York libraries make improvements to their study spaces, computer technology and collections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sheril Hook<\/strong>, associate dean of libraries, teaching and learning, notes that completing this year\u2019s survey will help YUL and the Law Library learn \u201cwhether we are meeting user needs in terms of quality and timeliness of services;\u00a0access to collections, both print and electronic; and whether library spaces inspire and enable research.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Feedback will guide future decisions on improvements and reconfigurations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The LibQUAL+ survey is open and available until <strong>March 26<\/strong> and can be completed here:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.library.yorku.ca\/libqual\/en?utm_source=lib&amp;utm_medium=faq+page&amp;utm_campaign=LibQUAL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">English version of LibQUAL+ (Passport York protected)<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.library.yorku.ca\/libqual\/fr?utm_source=lib&amp;utm_medium=faq+page&amp;utm_campaign=LibQUAL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">French version of LibQUAL+ (Passport York protected)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Students also have the option to enter a draw for a chance to receive one of 50 $25 YU-card top-ups. View the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.library.yorku.ca\/web\/about-us\/plans-and-reports\/libqual\/census\/#will-i-be-entered-draw-to-win\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">contest rules for more information<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The LibQUAL+ survey builds on other recent efforts to enhance library services, such as the Library Census Day, held on Feb. 26. All library users with a YU-card were asked to tap in and tap out of library locations during operating hours to help York U Libraries and the Law Library develop a one-day snapshot of typical usage
