In a feature article about a local group\u2019s Toronto Fringe Festival adaptation of The Urban Farm Show<\/I>, the Lindsay Daily Post<\/I> reported July 7 that York graduate Catherine Grace Howe <\/B>(BFA \u201805), the production's video installation artist, left Lindsay to explore film-making at York\u2019s Department of Film & Video, Faculty of Fine Arts. It was there that she fell in love with alternative and artistic film-making as a mode of expression. After graduation and four years of exploring her artistic spirit through film, she took time off to explore Europe. She is excited to be working on independent projects such as The Urban Farm Show<\/EM>. Through this project she has rekindled her love of farming and fondly remembers her adventures which include helping to birth twin calves and parties that depended on the field being hayed.<\/P> Judge known for his candour<\/P><\/B> Retired Superior Court judge Ken Ouellette<\/B> (LLB \u201856), a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School, died Thursday at the age of 79, reported The<\/I> Windsor Star <\/I>July 7. \"He was a great individual and a good lawyer and judge,\" said Tullio Meconi, a Windsor lawyer and close friend of Ouellette's. \"So it's a real sad event.\" Ouellette, like many of his peers, earned his judicial training at Osgoode Hall Law School. As a student, and later as a professional, Ouellette held a reputation for being highly competent. \"He was the type of person that went to the problem immediately and knew how to handle a case and knew how to make decisions,\" Meconi said.<\/P> Fine Arts alumna leads BC music and art camps for youngsters<\/P><\/B> Eliza Gardiner<\/B> (BFA \u201892) is a young people's theatre instructor and pre-school art and music teacher, reported the Trail Daily Times<\/I> July 7. She currently instructs first-year theatre at Malaspina University-College in Nanaimo and has her BFA in Film & Video from York University. Upon moving to BC in 1997, she began her own young people's theatre company called Earth Muffin Productions. Touring to festivals, theatres, and communities, she has offered young performers of British Columbia a wide selection of theatre and art\/music courses, classes, workshops and events.
